The Mobile World Conference 2011 was held in February 14–17 in Barcelona. If you missed it (what else was on in February to keep your attention?) here are some of the main news items arising from the event to catch up on. WHO WAS THERENearly 1,400 companies showcased their organisations across eight halls at Fira Barcelona - its BIG! APP PLANETHosting more than 10,000 app developers, App Planet was once again the Centre of the Apps Universe. Satellite developer conferences hosted by amongst others: BlackBerry, Macworld Mobile, Microsoft, Nokia, Samsung. AWARDSIncluded the 16th annual Global Mobile Awards, recognising outstanding offerings in a number of categories, covering topics from apps and entertainment to devices and innovation. iPhone 4.0 wins best device.
