Smartphone users browsing bog-standard websites on their phones usually need a magnifying glass to read whats going on. However websites which offer a mobile version for smaller screens are seeing a faster increase in return visitors. And with mobile internet usage rising 25% each year [ source mashable ] increasing your return visits mean more business, plain and simple.

Whats this all about?

Its possible to create a special version of your website (at the same address www.yoursite.com) but for smartphone visitors - a Mobile Website. This is different to developing Apps (a program downloaded on to the users phone). An advantage of a Mobile Website over App development is the capability to more easily create mobile templates for all platforms, whether Android, Symbian, or indeed iPhone or new Tablet devices [ source mashable ].

How is this achieved?

Typically we will create and embed a new mobile specific template within your website. When a visitor arrives at your site with through a smartphone or tablet they will automatically view your site through the resized and revised layout. However you don't need two websites running in tandem, desktop or smartphone users view the same pages but in different layouts.
